DuoBook Host for Mac
The free menu-bar app that lets DuoBook on your iPhone show your Mac’s screen and type and click on it.
Version 1.1 · macOS 14 Sonoma or later · Apple silicon and Intel · Signed and notarized by Apple · Updates itself
Install
- Open the downloaded file and drag DuoBook Host to Applications.
- Open it from Applications. Its icon appears in the menu bar.
- Its setup window has an Allow button for Screen Recording and one for Accessibility; each opens the right page in System Settings.
- Turn on Open at login so it’s always ready.
- Want to use your Mac away from home? Turn on Access from anywhere.
New in 1.1
- Unlock from iPhone: when your Mac is locked, your iPhone shows its lock screen, so you can type your password, even from far away. Connecting wakes a sleeping screen.
- Updates itself: DuoBook Host offers new versions and installs them with one click, or choose Check for Updates… in its menu.
- Easier setup: a window with an Allow button for each permission and a checkmark as each one turns on.
- Keep Mac awake: Never, When plugged in, or Always. Keep the lid open: closing it still puts the Mac to sleep.
- All Displays: with more than one display, see them all side by side on your iPhone.
- Router help: if your router keeps DuoBook out when you’re away, DuoBook Host opens its settings and the guide.
- With the DuoBook 1.1 beta on your iPhone: the Touch Bar, up to 120 fps, a smooth pointer, and keys in your Mac’s language.
Why it needs these permissions
- Screen Recording sends your screen to your iPhone, only while it’s connected.
- Accessibility lets it type and click for you.
- Local Network lets your iPhone find it on Wi-Fi.
